Since I'm being asked and I won't use such an script in PHPVibe (because you need to update it on very small intervals), I've checked for you guys some php scripts:


https://github.com/jeckman/YouTube-Downloader/issues (works up to 720p videos)
https://github.com/eyecatchup/php-yt_downloader (seems to work with 1080p videos)




I've made an simple sample implementation in a cron (called xcron.php), this will attempt to the download the youtube videos in your existing crons, but if it fails will revert to the youtube link embed (just like the normal cron).


Warning: This is just an sample coding and is meant to get you started, it was not tested for performance or issues.

I've tested this, and on average it gets 2/10 videos downloaded in practice.
