thats not good

my website's sidebar shows the last uploaded videos all over, thats rather disapointing,

i think you should try to add this feature asap , or make the plugin asap its a much needed feature, no point in having loads of videos in the sidebar if they are not that much related

It gets them by category. You can change the query yourself, you don't need this plugin to do it if you know a bit of php.

A little bit of hacking to the original code and that should do the trick

PS: the path to the file is tpl/main/layouts/related.php

oh, well thanks for trying anyway,

i took a look at that code and it looks like german to me lol, i have no idea what it means and dont think i would be able to modify the code correctly,

can anyone else give it a try?

On that logic explained there, you need fulltext which is slow, and matching "Rihanna singing on the beach in Barbados" against anything else will return 0 matches.

Looping tags and using the search algorithm in the com_search.php could be a much better choice.

could you not make it to match the first 3 words or 4 words or something like that or keywords or something,

then select random videos out of the related results and display them in the sidebar?

i dont know if that is even possible but i know you can do a lot with coding lol..

You do realise this plugin was a 5 lines of code change tops? No design was altered, just the video selection was different. However, it always will increase load, and it won't be 1 cache file.
