It's based on the main theme, but it will have collapsible left sidebar and will look similar to the new Youtube with a large front page grid.

This is work in progress, will update the thread as we build it.

If the autocomplete is coming from YouTube, will that mean that it will use the YouTube API to return results from YouTube for videos not found on the website, and import them when the user clicks?

If there are plans for this, I don't want to waste time trying to develop it, so please let me know.

No, the theme doesn't touch any PHPVibe core functionality. The api used is just for fast linking/type suggestions.
An upgrade to PHPVibe will add something similar, as in "search to save video" for users but this is not the thread to discuss that.
