Video that I've uploaded needs to have that value in ADMIN>> FFPEG CONVERSION /moderator/?sk=ffmpeg (ie. 480-720-1080 etc) in  order to upload.

Should this be correct.

I tried uploading a .avi video and my settings were only 720.
it would not show up or play - only image displayed..
Then I added 480 720 and 1080 in Video qualities
Enabled qualities: and now it worked...

is this the way it works ??

here is ffmpeg conversion seems video is 480 and only did 480

if video is quality 240 do we need to have 240 active in settings so it will upload ? and  is it suppose to encode anything above 240  so it should update that to 240 360 480 720 1080 etc ??

or is it the reverse 1080 video quality will encode backwards need 1080 in settings and then 720 480 360 240 etc will downgrade video to that ??

right now i have 480 - 720 - 1080 in settings but did not encode anything other than 480 for the video above

i did not try just 480 720 by itself or 360 480 by itself

Is this working correctly ?

Thanks

Spiro

For mp4:      ffmpeg -i <input-name> -crf <quality> <output>

@Mario ---  Can we have both someone uploads a mp4 or avi
ffmpeg -i <input-name> -q <quality> -crf <quality> <output>

I now have 360 480 720 seems to work good....

we need to add lowest number, first. i think 360 should be good start then 480 and if you want to go more then add 720 also and more add 1080.

start with 360 480 upload a video see if your happy. then if you have server you can try to add 720 see what happens then add 1080 and see ---- its up to you. but I know we need to add lowest number first because if quality (size) is more than the number you have to start then it wont upload anything   good luck trying :)

Make sure you've also applied the patch I did for video qualities.
The only limit is that it won't scale up. It won't convert a 240p video to 720p (cause it will be unwatchable anyways), so have a fail safe small sd.
