Breadcrumb Trail for Categories

When some clicks on a sub-category it would be nice to have a link on top to navigate to the main category just like we have in the forumns here. 2 Examples below so I am clear in my communication.

I would even replace the images for sub-categories with a breadcrumb text link trail to reduce the space the images take up.
