My Ajax is supremely messed up right now, as I am about to nuke the whole theme and rewrite from the bottom up. Ignore the video selection, as I have random internet citizens helping me test some things:

As you can see, it does work. I actually copied and pasted the code I provided above, as my addComment.php is heavily modified.

Edit: Also, this is not user based, it is global and if you want to change and option value, I think you must edit your database directly. I never tried re-adding the option, so I suspect that doesn't work. I am re-writing the moderator back-end right now to add more functionality. I will share my scripts when I am done.
