You can doo that in admin, and by default is set to jwplayer, still the jwplayer will work only for remote/local or youtube videos.

That's an jwplayer configuration, you should search on google on how you can do that and edit the file class.providers in lib folder but be careful you can break the class if you don't know to edit

Hi, the categories are retrieved from mysql and are sorted by id when you create categories you should create in the order that you like example create first music etc and they will appear in the order that you created them,

about the ads is very simple you have to goo example: tpl/main/video.php for the video page and you should add the advertisement after <div class="related video-related"> i'm not responsible for Anny damage that you could cause so you should backup your site before start edit ting

The default user from cron is under settings. You should check the patches topic in case you have an older download.
A default category to the select? I'll see what I can do.

Going like plugin.css , plugin.js and adding them through a filter is much easier than to modify the core files, because let's face it, for now it's 1 design, bun when they will be 20-30? What you gonna do, offer support/info for every theme?

Not really, what you can do it's turn every word in keyword and remove the common ones...but idk any way to get tag allocations.

I am not talking about admin panel header or footer, i am talking about website header and footer (filter).

Why, because my blog plugin required extra menu at top, beside the user login or the language selector.

Also in footer, i want to add some notification or menu for blog update or slider. i did not find a way to add my codes without disturbing the templates files.

Because in future as you told before there is 20-30 different templates designs will be available so its difficult for me to provide pluging for all of these templates designs..

Also there is no siderbar filter available as far as i know for the home page of website.

I need to know there is any option available.

I have this in my mind.. but its not a good option, by this use get 1000's of notification if site owner use youtube/vimeo auto importer,

Other beautiful option is like youtube, subscribe any channel (category) youtube display top watched or latest video on there home page..

i think the idea of phpvibe movies script would be good although i personally think integrating movies with the normal site somehow something similar to youtube. abviously not the exact same but you get the idea

although at the same time a normal movies phpvibe script on its own could be customized a lot more and a better layout

For video ads, when we'll have a custom player, since then, maybe a jwplayer plugin can help you.
I'll try something related to video in ads, but ...you'll see in the right time.

I am considering to buy this version, would like to know following:

1. Will PV ever get native video conversion trough ffmpeg? I can understand little UI tweaks here and there, but why not move script to next level?

2. FTP Upload/Import feature - I was wondering if it is planned for this version? Basically to allow users upload videos via FTP to some destination folder ("source folder") and import videos from there

3. URL upload - is it possible?

4. "Being watched right now" section on the top, new videos - under it - optionally. also maybe: Featured videos - admin can determine these.

5. Basic Google Snippets implementation

as a tweak suggestion, maybe it will be better to have "Description" end "embed" drop down separately.

Description is still very important part for content viewer and should probably load on the video page without clicking on it.

View count probably needs "Views" word next to it

Sure, it is pain, especially installing and configuring on the server, but lack of video conversion is what makes this script unpopular IMHO. and then - there are lots of hostings now, who offer pre-configured ffmpeg. Look at this issue from not-so well-established users point of view: you want to add content, but first you have to use your computer to convert, or just rip-off from youtube etc and this is huge downside.

When looking at it with a mobile phone (Android) it's hard to scroll past the Subscribers part as the  "Subscribers" list has been focused and scrolls.

Added a new cutter (I hope!) Scroll to top design.

Bumped into a dilemma, to leave the side menu, some call it unpractical, or just link to a page of channels and subchannels like most big video sharing websites do...not sure yet, but time i ticking and we are discussing solutions here.

- The addComment.php button is in the way of the text box

Noel, I'm not sure how IE11 works with placeholders, but a placeholder is not a value, for example in chrome and firefox I can't even remove that text, I just click and it disappears when I start typing.

There is a scroll jquery plugin there and works fine for me in IE/safari/firefox/chrome.

As for the button in the corner, overlapping a bit over the textarea, it's actually meant to be like this for design...

In all fairness I have extremely rarely seen a comment larger that 4-5 words on a PHPVibe powered website.
If this is a problem for you, you can put the button under the textarea with a 2 line of css change.
I actually encourage all of you to change stuff in your website, just to make it unique, at least a little bit, not just install phpvibe.

Still having some issues, you can't execute ffmpeg after upload because it will take forever to return video uploaded, so i'm building a cron to process them separately.
The upload just triggers the cron.

Hey Mario, please make it that .mp4 files are not reconverted. Usually reconverting reduces the quality of movies and that's bad and why reconvert something that's already in a perfect format? Just unnecessery waste of computation on the server. Please make it convert only other formats to .mp4 or at least let the admin choose if .mp4 files are converted or not.

I have like 1600 files in .mp4 waiting to be uploaded and all of them in good quality. I don't want to loose the quality and have to reconvert 1600 files, which are already in a perfect format.

2) XML, Video XML Sitemaps
its must have, Google or Bing Webmaster Tools required XML sitemap for indexing.

3) Predefined Ads Space on post layout.
it should be easy and simple per-defined sport in layout to place ads like 300x250, 728x90 or 160x800 (like WordPress widget)

4) Addthis Different Share Buttons options.
User can select what design/button they like to have for social share..
(good example Addthis wordpress plugin)

5) Option to disable New right hand side featured/related video list, that space can be used for Placing ads. 300x250

6) Didn't like you removed category menu in left hand on phpvibe 3.4, give us option to enable/disable on video post. also this space can be used for ads 160x800 below category.

Another bug, (same as from 3.3):

If you use SSL on your site, most jquery things in /moderator won't work and the login on the front page.

Fix:

It doesn't not pull jquery from Google's cdn, go to moderator/adm-functions.php

Why do you have to answer in Marios name?

I posted the bugs period. Ofc I don't expect him to fix them within 24h. But like with every other software which is in beta it comes with bugs and I believe it's in the developers interest to know what isn't working so he can take a look at it. Hence beta? I never asked him to fix it within 24h. Whenever he and his team get a chance to, probably in 2014.

Well the screenshot was taken on an ipad 3. So I'm not very sure which resolution but I can reproduce the bug by shrinking the default size of my browser window. It happens when the menu bar on the left gets very close to the edge of the browser window and has 0 padding/margin from it. All of the sudden the login/register button throws itself down instead of staying on the right side.

There seems to be a bug with position: in the following there:

    display: block;
    margin-left: 2%;
    position: relative;
}

.searchWidget {
    float: left;
    margin-right: 15px;
    padding: 4px 0 0;
    width: auto;
}

If you try position: absolute it starts working but then you have to readjust the floating as well or it will float left instead of right.

Tested on Safari, Mac. Problem happens on all Apple Devices.

Here are the issues that i found.. dont know if they were mentioned before but here goes......
1. the "not safe" feature does not work. Not safe videos are been shown to non members. (at least for me)
2. on mobile devices the videos redirect to youtube..

2. If you use jwplayer it does that, they say it's "expected behavior" and for now don't have a solution.
3.I did that once, but it's a painful process, mainly at facebook and honestly I don't think you can patch it into a plugin, even if I release the 4-5 lines of js, the facebook config will pissoff most buyers of that plugin.

I did it for phpvibe 2.0 (I think) and they did not approve me, but I could test with those developer testing accounts.
I remember it was like 4 lines of javascript server side, and the rest was at Facebook.

Got another css related bug. When you go to your profile section and click on "SORT", the drop down opens but is cut off after the 2nd position. See screenshot.

Yes it's empty but still it looks like cut off when you hit the sort bar that's why I brought up the issue. Shouldn't the pop up window from sort show normaly regardless if you have an activity or not?

The problem is the content height, the content it's overflow hidden so it cuts this type of elements off when the height is to small.
You can set a minimum height on the body if it bothers you, that will remove the issue.

Hey Mario, check out this website emulator for different platforms/hardware:

Then:

1.) Select Tablet
2.) Select Ipad 1-3/mini
3.) Rotate Screen

You will see the CSS bug which persists on ipad 3 with the login/registration button.

This emulator is great if you don't have an apple device so you can see how it would look like without having to donate a lot of $$ to the apple church.

I think there simply aren't that many bugs At least I haven't found any more apart from those I've seen posted in this thread. Good programming Or a lot of people haven't upgraded yet from 3.3 to 3.4 as there is not yet a stable release. I assume once you release the stable, more will upgrade and hence give you more feedback. Roll out 3.4 stable and let's see

I am having a issue with my database. Seems, I am getting so much traffic, it is causing the database run at a very high load. Add the Cron process and WOW instant 2000% load on the mySqld process.

Right now the MySqld Process is sitting at 2000% Usage and my server is handling it just fine but when it gets above 3,000% it starts to lock the db and causes it to require a mysqld restart.

Maybe we can work together to bring down the load of the database. Luckily for us both, I spent a great deal of time dealing with database locking, load, write error and overcame this using memcache and a few other techniques.


Can the running of the cron process, be ran using a memtable? This can be done in MySqld but the entire table will be wiped out if the DB process is canceled or restarted so it should only be temporary data.

I tried uploading a 1.7gig movie and constantly at around 15% or 20% of the upload process it jumps back to 0% and restarts uploading... this is repeated for a few times until it eventually says that the upload failed entirely.

The uploader works fine with smaller movies but with large files = error.

Can you please test this?? I know I diden't have this issue with 3.3 for sure!

There is only one change in the uploader (the pop-up on error for debugging purposes).
Can you test on our server? http://www.videoinedit.com/ We did test it a lot with both ffmpeg and mp4 large files.
You need to check your logs also, the fast that it's uploading via html5 does not mean the server will store it over his settings (in some cases).

Jwplayer 6.. plays video very well on my laptop but not so well on mobile devices (they don't play)..

The images are nowhere to be found. Not even in the moderators panel. I was thinking it was the path but I can't find the file that successful images uploaded are to change the path. And I  am also having a problem with the music player carousel. It is not in like the video carousel they just have their own individual line. You can take a look elegendz.net Oh and not sure about the youtube importer that doesn't work at all the sound cloud import works perfectly.
